Blood borne Pathogens/ Viruses

Workers likely to come into contact with blood and/ or other body fluid spills need to be protected from contact with the spilled fluids.

Protective clothing should be impermeable.

Check the local or statutory arrangements for disposal of material contaminated with blood or body fluids.

Check whether there is a colour convention for disposal containers.

Medical tests may be needed following exposure or exposure to blood borne pathogens/ viruses.
