Compressed Air

Be aware that compressed air inappropriately used or accidentally jetted onto the human body can cause air as well as particles to enter the body, leading to severe injuries including blindness.  Air in the bloodstream can also be fatal.

Using pressurised to clean clothing may also penetrate the skin.

Noise from compressed air leaks and pneumatic machinery has the potential to cause hearing damage.

Ensure that the correct PPE is issued and that the eyes, face, and ears are protected.  Use low vibration pneumatic tools to prevent hand arm vibration injuries.
