The Expert Ease International Licensing and Certification Program is designed to permit employers to build and record an appropriate program for training and assessment for all those who work on or regularly enter hazardous work situations. Each element is offered at different levels to take account of the amount of time a candidate will spend in hazardous work situations and the work that they will be undertaking.
The levels are:
Awareness: Where the candidate is expected to enter hazard control zones, this level will provide details of the hazards, the harm that can result, and information on the safety procedures that they will be required to follow. Workers trained and assessed to awareness level cannot be considered as having proved their competence.
Operator Competence: Where the candidate is an operative a detailed level of awareness of the hazards and controls is required as well as a demonstrated ability to apply their health and safety skills in the work situation. Competence programs include hazard analysis, developing controls and specific practical skills associated with that element.
Management & Supervision Competence: This level requires that candidates have already demonstrated their awareness within the key area (s). The program will be delivered in the context of the safety management system, and will cover legal duties and responsibilities, practical actions to manage safety, operational analysis and control procedures, identification of training needs for operatives, resourcing, implementation and enforcement, monitoring and reviewing.
